Tiny Homes

So, lately my husband and I have been getting into the tiny home idea, whether it be a vacation home, or a retreat. We have perused many sites and have posted many photos on Facebook. We're still deciding exactly what and how we're going to do this. But, in the meantime, I thought I would share some of these with you and see what you think of them.

This is a really nice tiny home.  And, of course, I love the pool and the jacuzzi!

Have you ever looked at them?  And, what do you think of them?

2014 Phoenix Fearcon Interviews with The Horror Show

The Horror Show was at the 2014 Phoenix Fearcon, along with many other vendors and great people, among them were KMOD Radio, actors Markice Moore, Tiffany Shepis, Jennifer Lynn Warren, and several others.  I enjoyed talking to them and hanging out with them.  Below is an interview that The Horror Show did while at the 2014 Phoenix Fearcon. Among the interviewees were Custom Coffin Works, The Dark Goddess, and myself. Enoy!

Crystal Dragon Revision

Very excited to say that the new and revised cover for Bad Elements: Crystal Dragon has been finalized, along with the re-edited edition. I'm looking forward to sharing the cover with you. I'd like to thank Vic Weiford for his contribution to the book as the graphic designer. I have hit some rough spots on the road while this book was being edited, but I have made it to the finish line and am very excited by the outcome!

If there are any bloggers out there who would like to feature my book for the Book Tour and Cover Reveal, please let me know.  The email address to send this to is crypticbonespublishing@gmail.com.  The re-release is this month and I would love to give Crystal Dragon some TLC! She needs it after some of the rough patches she's been through.

Sacrificial Blood

I'm happy to say that my book, Sacrificial Blood, has been re-edited and re-released as of July 12, 2014.  The cover has not changed nor has the story.  It just needed some refining on the overall story and Don's back story.  If you get a chance, check it out at Sacrificial Blood

Summoned by Rainy Kaye

Another great book!  Here's my review for Summoned by Rainy Kaye.

"Summoned was a fantastic, unique, and genuinely twisted story of fate, bonding, and one SEXY genie, Dim! I love the angle and the twisted concept of the old genie tale! This is one outstanding novel that is sure to capture everyone's heart. Make sure to summon up your copy and engage yourself in a page turning, erotic, and dynamite killer novel! I highly recommend this one."

Bad Elements revisions

So, things are certainly underway with the changes to the original novel, Bad Elements: Crystal Dragon.  It looks much better, and I have to say, I'm very happy with the changes.  Several things are happening with it right now.

1.  Crystal Dragon has officially been split in half and is turning into two books, the first half titled, Crystal Dragon (of course, we can't change the original title), the second half titled, Blood for Blood.

2.  I'm very excited to say that the re-editing has been completed on Crystal Dragon.  YAY!

3.  The edits are in mid-conversion of being applied to the print copy.  The E-Book has already been completed, so for those of you who have been to Amazon, and have noticed a change in the number of pages, yes, that is the revised manuscript. ;)

4.  The cover has been completed, but has not been applied to the book yet.  Very soon though!

As soon as the book is complete, I will set the release date.  I hope you are excited!  I know I am.

I presume you might have more questions in regards to the second installment in the Bad Elements series, Blood for Blood.  Please keep in mind that Blood for Blood is the last half of Crystal Dragon, so if you're looking forward to reading the original sequel to the original Crystal Dragon, remember that book is going to become the third book, The Hybrid.

FAQ's for the Bad Elements Series

Q.  Is Blood for Blood going to be re-edited like Crystal Dragon was?
A.  Yes, it is.  That is the next project on the agenda.  As a matter of fact, I have already started re-editing it.  My other writing projects have been put on hold.

Q.  Why are you having the books re-edited?
A.  Unfortunately, there were some things in the original manuscript that should have been edited but were not.  I'd like to apologize to you, my fans, for putting the rest of the series on hold while I have the books revised, but I'm hoping you are excited for the changes just as much as I am.  Once the first two books go through their changes, everything will be back on track.

Q.  I heard the cover to Crystal Dragon is also going through a revision?  Is that true?  And, if so, what is happening to the original artwork that was on it?
A.  Yes, the cover is also changing.  The original artwork that was on the cover is remaining, but is also going through a change.  The original artwork, "Butterfly", which was drawn by my daughter, Bridget, has been picked up by a fabulous graphic designer, who has added his artistic talent to her artwork.  Yes, Bridget, has already seen the finished project, and is very happy with it, as well.

Q.  I heard the sequel to the original novel was already started.  Have you started it, or is it finished?
A.  The original sequel, The Hybrid, which is now becoming the third installment in the series, is finished.  It too, just needs to go through editing.

Q.  How many books are going to be in the series?
A.  Hmm, as far as it stands now, there are going to be four books in the series.  I'll leave it at that for now. ;)

If you have more questions, please let me know, and I'll make sure to answer them for you.

Coming in March 2014 - Summoned by Rainy Kaye

Excited to be a part of the Cover Reveal for my friend and previous editor, Rainy Kaye!

Blurb

Twenty-three year old Dimitri has to do what he is told—literally. Controlled by a paranormal bond, he is forced to use his wits to fulfill unlimited deadly wishes made by multimillionaire Karl Walker.

When he meets Syd—assertive, sexy, intelligent Syd—he becomes determined to make her his own. Except Karl has ensured Dimitri can't tell anyone about the bond, and Syd isn't the type to tolerate secrets.

Then Karl starts sending him away on back-to-back wishes. Unable to balance love and lies, Dimitri sets out to uncover Karl's ultimate plan and put it to an end. But doing so forces him to confront the one wish he never saw coming—the wish that will destroy him.

2014 PROJECTS

As I sit here at my kitchen table, I look back to last year, and then forward to this upcoming year. Like I said before, 2013 was a transitional year for me. Honestly, I should say for us, my husband and I. Many things are in the works and I have a very busy schedule ahead of me. As some of you are aware, I pulled my debut novel, Bad Elements: Crystal Dragon, from a small publishing house and re-released it with Cryptic Bones Publishing. Granted, it was a quick release to get the book back on the market, so there were some minor changes with the cover. Cryptic Bones Publishing, my husband and I, knew that a few changes needed to be made. First off, the book cover. The original artwork, "Butterfly" was created by my daughter, Bridget Mullican. Though, I really didn't want to take it off of the cover, I opted for a change, preferably still with my daughter's artwork on it. Luck happened to come by when my new editor, Rainy Kaye appeared. A graphic designer, Kris Wagner, whom she is friends with, loved the butterfly. Hence, changes were made, with the butterfly still on the cover. We went through a couple of different cover options and finally settled on one.

Two, re-edit. As a writer, I realize I'm going to be critiqued and that not everyone is going to like my book. That's fine and all but when you receive a book review that is so bad, one which makes you go back through your book with a fine tooth comb, you ask yourself, "Did the previous editor do what was needed for my book?" As I combed through mine, I decided, you know what, it needs to be re-edited. So, currently, Crystal Dragon is back under revision, and quite thankfully, I will admit. Rainy has done a fantastic job with it! She's picking up stuff the previous editor didn't.

Third and lastly, book reviews and endorsements! They are difficult to get from other authors when they are busy and really don't have the time to do a book review. I've propositioned several authors, most of whom have turned me down due to time constraints. Crystal Dragon in it's original manuscript was almost 500 pages. The minute I told other authors the page length, they immediately said, "Sorry, I just don't have time to read it." Sigh! On to the next author.

So, Rainy approached me with the idea of cutting the book in half and making two books out of one. (At this point, I'll be quite honest and say, yes, I have thought about doing this before.) My husband supported the idea as well. There are a couple of advantages to this. One, it will be a little easier to get book reviews and endorsements. Two, this puts more books on the market thus more "sales". Three, financial agreements are a little easier to finance.

So, what happened?

As most of you know, I agreed to the split of the book. The original Crystal Dragon is in the process of becoming two books. The first book in the Bad Elements series, Crystal Dragon will remain Crystal Dragon (of course, this seems the most logical thing to do). The second half of Crystal Dragon is going to be the second book in the series, Blood for Blood. The third book in the series, is The Hybrid.

So, with that said, the third edition of Bad Elements: Crystal Dragon will be re-released in 2014 with the new cover and edits. For those of you who have read the original Crystal Dragon, don't worry, you don't have to pick up a new copy of the book, the edits are minor. The release date has not been set yet.

As for Blood for Blood and The Hybrid, my editor has both books at this time. She is working on them, as well as other books, so once again, the release date for the second and third installments are not set. Once, I am able to set some dates and times, you'll be the first to know, okay maybe second. My family is generally the first.

Question: So, you may be asking yourself, "Okay then, in between edits on the Bad Elements series, are you working on another book?"
Answer: Yes, The Shadow of Evil is currently underway but unfortunately, the Bad Elements series is taking priority at this time. So, when edits are completed by Rainy, they come back to me for completion which of course takes time away from the book that is being written.

Question: Is The Shadow of Evil the next in line in the Bad Elements series?
Answer: No, it's not. It is a religious/horror novel unaffiliated with the series.

Question: Will there be another book in the Bad Elements series?
Answer: Ah, good question. Yes, there will be. I'm taking a momentary break from the series to work on The Shadow of Evil. Once I'm done with The Shadow of Evil, I will most likely jump on the fourth book in the Bad Elements series.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to ask. I look forward to hearing from you.
~ Lynn Mullican

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE, EVERYONE! What did you do for the new years? As for myself, I relaxed at home with my hubby, cuddled up to a movie and ate some chocolate. With that said, I'm going to start 2014 off right. Going to cinch the belt in tighter on the funds and do some things that I want to do for myself, my husband, and the family. Going to go on some adventures this year, experience some new things, overcome obstacles to make my books bestsellers (okay, maybe that's a little outlandish right now but hey, got to start somewhere, right? DETERMINATION IS THE KEY!), lose some more weight, spend more quality time with the family and with friends, pay some more bills off, maintain a healthier lifestyle, learn to relax more and not stress as much, and ENJOY MY LIFE! 2013 was a transitional year, a much needed year to get some things straightened out; monetary, personal, writing, etc. I'm still in a little bit of a transitional state with some things, but everything is starting to move in a more positive and productive direction. There have been some hurdles but I/WE have overcome some of them and we're looking forward to 2014 with a new and vigoress determination. BRING ON 2014!!!!
